Paddling in Petrčane
Salty Society rents stand-up paddleboards in Petrčane and delivers them to your apartment, hotel or straight down to one of the coves. Boards are €15 per board per day, delivery to Petrčane is €15, and there's no prepayment — you pay cash when we arrive. Board, paddle, leash, fin, pump and carry bag are included, and we collect everything again afterwards.
Petrčane is really two places: the old village around the harbour, and the resort side out on Punta Skala. We deliver to both — including to the Falkensteiner resort at Punta Skala, where we'll meet you at the hotel rather than making you walk out to the road — plus anywhere from Punta Skala round to Punta Radman. Tell us which cove or which building when you book; the village lanes are narrow and the coves are down separate paths, so the difference between the right one and the next one along is a fair walk carrying a board.
The shoreline is a run of pine-fringed pebble coves — Cuf, Punta Radman, Sveti Andrija — separated by low rocky headlands. Entry is pebble underfoot rather than sand, easy enough barefoot and easier in reef shoes. What makes it worth the drive is the clarity: visibility here regularly hits ten metres or more in July and August, so you spend as much time looking down at the bottom as out at the horizon.
Paddle out a hundred metres and the whole Velebit range opens up across the channel, with the island of Vir sitting low on the horizon — the view is the reason to come here rather than paddle closer to the city. Working along the coves from Punta Skala towards Punta Radman is an easy hour of flat water in the morning, with plenty of places to stop. The clear water also makes this one of the better spots on the riviera for looking for fish, urchins and the occasional octopus while you drift.
Petrčane draws a mix of hotel guests out at Punta Skala and people in apartments and holiday houses in the old village. Either way, almost nobody arrives with a board. Delivery means you don't carry anything through a hotel lobby or down a cove path — we bring the boards to the water and take them back at the end. For a week's stay, the rate drops to €9 a day per board.

We had such an amazing time paddleboarding - beforehand we had lots of contact explaining where would be best to meet, routes to take etc. They were incredibly flexible with timings for pick up as we weren’t sure our plans for the day and even changed the day completely due to wind. Part way through one of us stood on a sea urchin ( we had no idea what to do) so called them for information, they came and helped take the spikes out and even dropped us home, giving us dinner recommendations in the mean time which most definitely hit the spot. Yes. Delivery to Petrčane is €15 for the whole reservation, however many boards you take. We deliver anywhere from Punta Skala to Punta Radman — the old village, the hotels, or down to one of the coves.
€15 per board for one day, €36 for three days (€12 a day) and €63 for a week (€9 a day). Delivery to Petrčane adds €15 to the reservation. Collecting the boards from us in Zadar yourself is free.
It's one of the best spots on the Zadar riviera for it. Visibility regularly reaches ten metres or more in July and August, and the coves are shallow and clear enough to see fish, sea urchins and sometimes an octopus straight from the board.
Yes. We deliver to the Falkensteiner resort at Punta Skala and meet you at the hotel, so you don't carry boards out to the road or through the lobby. We collect them the same way at the end of your rental.
Yes in the morning, when the water in the coves is usually flat. It's a little more exposed than the Nin lagoon or the Sukošan bay, so if it's your first time on a board, go out early and stay inside the coves rather than heading across open water.
Pebble, in a series of small coves separated by low rocky headlands, with stone pines for shade. There's no long sandy beach here. Reef shoes make getting in and out easier.
No. There's no prepayment and no card needed to reserve — you pay cash when we hand over the boards. If the sea isn't safe to paddle, you can reschedule or cancel free of charge.
